Quality in the management of educational institutions: a look beyond utopia

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to contrast the theory with the reality that revolves around the management of educational institutions. The terms quality and management are not merely specific to the educational system; however, they are currently fundamental elements in and for the teaching and learning processes. To go beyond utopia, it is necessary not only to plan from the ideal or imaginary, it is about constant reflection, specialization and a diversity of knowledge that contribute to creating realities with meaning and significance.
