Abstract

The sudden and rapid COVID-19 propagation around the world and, in particular, in Mexico led to a strict lockdown from March to July, 2020; after that, slow and few changes have been taking place. Facing the emergency and subsequent crisis, the response of the ego (to deal with the reality) has appeared: denial and avoidance. Being at home, with few options outside, but with a television set and Netflix, ¿how did Mexicans experience that period of time? Living in different cities, Mexicans were questioned following a series of indepth interviews. We noticed the importance of news programs, a constant presence of Netflix within family dynamics, an important concern about children and a variety of most watched genres.
