The intercultural functions inherent in folk literature: a new theoretical perspective of the intercultural education model.

This article discusses how folk literature is linked to intercultural competence through its objectives and functions. It analyzes how the integration of folk literature in a classroom strengthens the understanding of national identity always through a global reality perspective. Finally, concluding that this type of literature stimulates and develops intercultural competence by recognizing its universal symbols and values.
