Abstract

The starting point of this article is the very particular case of patients who have experienced the abandonment of their mother by being sold or left in the hands of another to be sexually exploited. In this sense, the position of the mother and the infant in this situation is analyzed from the defenses of the Self that Green (2012) proposes the disinvestment of the maternal object and the unconscious identification with the dead mother; the loss of meaning and the unleashing of hatred. Finally, three considerations that may arise in the transference during the therapeutic process are raised.
