Abstract

This essay proposes to explore Thomas H. Ogden's proposal of the analytic third party and its approach in the analyst-analysand relationship. The intersubjective conception of the analytic pair redefines the analytic setting and its implications for transference-countertransference. A conceptual journey is proposed highlighting some of his theoretical influences, defining key concepts and rehearsing a reading that puts him in dialogue with other fields, such as literature and music. In the same way, some examples of the community clinic are proposed to illustrate some reflections directed towards the appropriation and understanding of the concepts offered by psychoanalysis of the third analytic.
