"Am I the guardian of my brother?" Foundations of solidarity in the Jewish religious universe and christian

The concept of “solidarity” is into the Jewish and Christian religious thought as fundamental part of it, since it presupposes a positive relationship with the neighbor as a condition of possibility of the relationship with God. In this sense, the Judeo-Christian root of the West should contemplate these background of solidarity empathy and responsibility for the other human being in its social foundations, but it has distanced itself considerably from the sources that irrigated it in its origin as a Culture. In this text, we intend to recall those sources of inspiration for our Western Culture and the role that solidarity has in it as a social foundation.
